THE
MUSEUM OF CHILDHOOD
This
museum contains a fascinating collection of toys,
dolls and games from Victorian, Edwardian and
Georgian times to the present day.
The
Museum, founded by Patrick Murray in 1955, occupies
two storeys of the 18th century rear of the building.
Many of the exhibits come from Murrays
private collection, but after the Museum, the
first of its kind, opened its doors gifts from
all over the world began to innundate the organisers.
In addition to dolls (a collection still unequaled)
artefacts include slot machines, games, puppets,
cars, bicycles and childrens books.
